A Backyard BBQ to be Remembered

The 30th Anniversary celebrations continue at Stawnichy’s! Uncle Ed’s held our much-anticipated community BBQ last month and everyone had a blast.  It was a beautiful day full of familiar faces, good ol’ Stawnichy’s BBQ sausage burgers and smokies, dancing, singing, and fundraising for the ACUA (Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts). Even baba made an appearance! We were fortunate to have the musical stylings of the legendary Sparkling Tones Ukrainian Band, and incredible local country artist Colleen Rae. Families were out busting moves and singing along, and beer was provided by our pals at local brewery Alley Kat Brewing.  We were so happy to see Beverly showing its Ukrainian roots; we’re so proud to be a part of this growing community. We were thrilled to donate $850 to the ACUA.  This non-profit arts organization is vital for facilitating and encouraging awareness of the Ukrainian arts and their cultural significance to the greater Alberta community. They support exhibitions, tours, festivals, workshops and educational programs while promoting growth and support for Ukrainian artists living in Alberta. Thanks again to everyone who came out to our shindig to support our staff, family, friends, neighbours, ACUA and of course- Uncle Ed!
